Through an array of innovative, flavorful and healthy juice blends combined with a few drops of panache, The Juice Standard is setting the standard for pressed juices in Las Vegas since its opening in March.

Located at 4555 S. Fort Apache Rd. just west of I-215 between Flamingo Rd. and Tropicana Ave., the already popular juice spot is a favorite for locals looking for healthy pressed juices, as well as The Juice Standard’s innovative cleanse.

Developed by two Las Vegas health and juice enthusiasts, Jamie Stephenson and Marcella Melnichuk, The Juice Standard offers raw, cold-pressed juice blends to provide a convenient way to juice without the mess and time-consuming commitment of juicing at home. The Juice Standard applies 15,000 pounds of pressure to fruits and vegetables that have been farmed responsibly, as well as locally, whenever possible. Every blend is raw, completely organic and bottled without high-pressure processing, a technique that some producers use to extend the shelf life of their product for up to six weeks.

“We know first-hand the health benefits of juicing, and the more fresh the fruits and vegetables are, the better,” says Stephenson. “Raw fruits and veggies contain a tremendous amount of phytonutrients and enzymes that work synergistically to heal the body. Whether you are looking for increased energy, a slimmer tummy or disease prevention, cold-pressed juice is incredibly powerful.”

There are 20 different juice blends on the menu, each containing pounds of pressed produce that are packed with nutrition and ideal as both a refreshing snack or for a meal replacement. Signature juices include Bee Chill, a sweet, refreshing blend including fresh watermelon, cucumbers and lemon; Bee Positive, a mixture of lemon, filtered water and activated charcoal to help ease the symptoms of a late night out; and Bee Abundant, consisting of filtered water, raw macadamia, raw cashew, agave, Ceylon cinnamon and vanilla bean, all of which contain a good source of magnesium, further supporting heart health, brain health and cancer prevention.

Additional nutrient-packed juices include the Bee WHealthy, a mix of cucumber, celery, romaine, kale, apple, dandelion, parsley, lemon, ginger and turmeric, known for its anti-aging qualities; Bee On Point, concocted of cucumber, celery, carrot, apple, kale, beet, dandelion, radish, lemon, ginger, turmeric and black pepper to help with everyday health management; or Bee The Change, a mixture of cucumber, celery, burdock root, dandelion, lemon and pink Himalayan salt for liver stability.

Juicers can take advantage of the “Standard Cleanse,” consisting of eight 12-ounce bottles of cold-pressed, organic and locally-sourced juice, priced at $60 per day. Each juice is labeled with a number so the consumer knows exactly which order to drink them in, providing juicers with simple and effective guidance to ensure maximum satisfaction.

As part of the Standard Cleanse, recipients receive a daily supply of three Bee WHealthy juices for overall health management; one Bee Love juice to support heart health; one Bee Energized juice to increase energy; one Bee Magnificent juice to provide magnesium, support heart health and can prevent disease; and a choice between Bee Pure, an apple-sweetened lemonade rich in B-vitamins, or Bee Vibrant, a spicy lemonade containing cayenne pepper to increase energy and speed the metabolism for a refreshing feeling.

The Juice Standard deviates from the norm when it comes to juicing in the way the produce is pressed. While other juices are squeezed and whipped around in a juicer, killing the enzymes right as they are released, The Juice Standard’s special pressing technique preserves as many of the enzymes as possible, allowing for a more “alive” juice when it goes into the body.

Because The Juice Standard believes in living a healthy lifestyle and taking care of the environment, customers are encouraged to recycle their Singletons, individual 16.9-ounce glass bottles, at the store location for $1 off per bottle during their next purchase.

Juicing hits home for Stephenson and Melnichuk, which drives them to bring their passion for fighting disease through a healthy diet and juice cleanses to the Las Vegas community. For Stephenson, juicing became a part of her family’s everyday life when her stepfather was diagnosed with advanced colorectal cancer and given just months to live. Her family then started juicing as a part of their daily routines, noticing a dramatic positive impact on her stepfather’s health.

Melnichuk developed the same interest in juicing after visiting her husband’s Mediterranean homeland and falling in love with the healthy choices offered at the local farmer’s market. Melnichuk has successfully put her family on the road to a healthy lifestyle, eliminating processed meats and soda and adding juice into the everyday routine.
