That said, there are still plenty of activities in Las Vegas that encourage you to get outside. If you’re a fan of red sandstone, we suggest taking a hike in Red Rock Canyon or go explore the Valley of Fire State Park. If you want to check out one of the seven wonders of the modern world, pay a visit to Hoover Dam.

You’ll find everything from bargain-filled outlet malls to high-end boutiques. We suggest visiting the Fashion Show Mall, the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, or the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian, even if all you want to do is window shop. Fremont Street Experience
Activities in Las Vegas – Fremont Street Experience
  1. Visit the Fremont Street Experience. Fremont Street, Old Vegas, and Downtown are all the same place. Back in the day, you used to be able to drive down Fremont Street. You can see this in U2’s iconic “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” video filmed on Fremont Street in April of 1987 (watch video below). Today, Fremont Street is known as the Fremont Street Experience. It’s also now pedestrian-only. At night, you can hear live music, see VERY interesting street performers, and watch a stunning light show on the overhead canopy. It’s also the place where you’ll see what made Vegas famous, flashing lights and neon signs.
  1. Relax at a spa. After a long day of exploring the city, take some time to relax and unwind at one of Las Vegas’ many luxurious spas. Indulge in a massage, a facial, or a soothing soak in a hot tub to recharge your batteries and prepare for your next adventure in Sin City.
Bellagio Conservatory
Activities in Las Vegas – Bellagio Conservatory
  1. Visit the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Most locals and tourists agree that one of the best activities in Las Vegas to do is visit the Conservatory and Botanical Gardens at the Bellagio. It is an absolutely stunning display of flowers, plants, and other botanical wonders, which are changed seasonally, so there’s always something new to see. The best part is that it’s free for everyone to see. In our opinion, the Conservatory is money well spent by MGM Resorts. Other businesses should take notice. Just because something doesn’t have a clearly defined ROI, the memories visitors take away last a lifetime.
  1. Go to a club. While many cities will claim to be the top destination for nightlife, we really can not see how anyone does it better than Vegas and at the scale, it does it. Many of the top entertainers have residencies at the clubs here. You’ll find everything from a chill atmosphere to dancing the night away, and sometimes into the morning. Many of the hottest clubs are located inside some of the top resorts on the Strip.
Neon Museum

  1. Visit the Neon Museum. Like a moth to a flame… One of the more unique museums in Las Vegas, and the world quite honestly, is The Neon Museum. Neon, quite arguably, put this city on the map and this museum celebrates that with informative exhibits about the city’s relationship with glass tubes filled with gas. I mean, who else but Las Vegas, while not being known to preserve our buildings, decides to preserve our neon signs from the buildings that we tore down? Then decides to save the lobby from the La Concha Motel and make it the entrance to The Neon Museum. Welcome to Vegas.
Wind Dancer Helicopter Tour
Wind Dancer Helicopter Tour
  1. Take a helicopter tour. Are you looking for a truly unique perspective of Las Vegas? How about taking to the skies on a helicopter tour? Our suggestion is that you take a helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon, where they not only land down in the canyon, and serve you food and drinks, but while flying to the Grand Canyon and back, you’ll get to see the Hoover Dam AND the Las Vegas Strip. It’s like three tours in one.
Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay
Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay
  1. Hang out with Sea Creatures. One of the best activities in Las Vegas for families is the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. I know, right? Who would’ve thought there would be an aquarium in the desert? You and your family will get to see more than 2,000 animals. Those animals include giant rays, a Komodo dragon, sharks, endangered green sea turtles, and my personal favorite, the piranha. I had never seen one in person before, just in the movies. And, they aren’t portrayed very well in movies. Neither are sharks, come to think of it.
  1. Visit the Las Vegas Natural History Museum. If you’re looking to learn about the natural history of Las Vegas, The Natural History Museum is a great place to start. You’ll see the geology of the city, a collection of Native American artifacts, and dinosaur exhibits. You’ll even find marine life on display because although Nevada is a desert, it was once entirely submerged hundreds of millions of years ago.

The Mob Museum
Activities in Las Vegas – The Mob Museum
  1. Visit the Mob Museum. When talking about The Mob Museum, we have to make sure that we enunciate the word MOB, otherwise, people sometimes ask us, what’s The MOM Museum? I guess their first guess isn’t that someone would build an entire museum about the Mob. Not only did Las Vegas do that, but they also did it in one of the most historical buildings in the city. It’s even on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1933, the old post office and sometimes courthouse is the home of interactive exhibits, artifacts, and multimedia displays that tell the story of the city’s mobster past. It’s a fascinating look at the history of organized crime in America, with a focus on Las Vegas.
