Harvest” is designed to celebrate renewal in all forms, capture the bountiful goodness the earth provides and harvest community outreach, passion and imagination. First Friday Las Vegas has become the leader for family-friendly activities, art, cultural enrichment, educational efforts, community and more; mostly low cost or free of cost, for every age.

The “Harvest” features a variety of entertainment throughout all festival zones, art activations, inspirational concerts and dance while providing place where First Friday Las Vegas-goers can join local artists and community leaders to collectively celebrate new beginnings. There will also be a special re-showing of Brock Nordstrom’s winning installation from August’s “Wonderland” event on Colorado between Casino Center and Main.

Local guerilla artist/builder, Ruzo Logic, will be on hand demonstrating his custom built gardening beds which have been popping up throughout Downtown Las Vegas. Through this innovative approach to urban sustainability, Logic converts industrial shipping palettes into remarkable, raised urban garden beds. Logic will display several examples through the building process and invite the public to help decorate one of these unique pieces of sustainable art during the event.

As First Friday celebrates life throughout the “Harvest,” the Think Safe Zone features Pink Hearts as the special charitable partner of the month. Pink Hearts recently raised over $30,000 to assist with the medical treatment of local four-year-old Jillian who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of neuroblastoma. To mark Jillian’s miraculous recovery and new life, children attending First Friday are invited to decorate pots and plant a flower or vegetable. Donations are encouraged and will go to Childhood Cancer Research.

“Harvest” also features a dose of down-home entertainment with a wide variety of musical performances at The Hub, Artiface and Cowtown, as well as square-dancing and members from the gay rodeo.

First Friday Las Vegas “Harvest” also features the zones made popular by patrons of the monthly arts and culture mainstay. Running down Casino Center from Colorado to Charleston, the Arts District continues to feature works of emerging Las Vegas artists in Arts Row, arts and crafts vendors in The Bazaar and live music in The Hub. Shuffle Zone returns behind Art Square providing an all-night electronic dance party.
