Wednesdays Downtown will introduce a new reason for locals to sip, savor and socialize in the middle of the week with its debut in the Fremont East Entertainment District on May 7. The inaugural spring series will be held every Wednesday through May 28.

Produced by Relish, Wednesdays Downtown will occupy the streets at Las Vegas Boulevard and 6th Street, which will be closed for the night. “Locals are the fuel that energizes Downtown Las Vegas,” says Jolene Mannina, owner of Relish. “This event is something that will bring everyone together, from industry professionals to entrepreneurs, through one great block party.”

The Food Truck Village at Wednesdays Downtown will be located directly west of Park on Fremont. Each week the village will feature a celebrity chef food truck. Foodie fans can choose from a line-up of favorites including Truk-N- Yaki, Quality Food Service, Truck-U-Barbecue, Can’t Dutch This, The Hummus Factory, LobstaTrap and OsoOno Shave Ice. At 9 p.m. spectators will enjoy a bit of dirty fun during the Downtown Dirty Bar Fight hosted by the Modern Mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim. Bartenders will compete by creating delicious beverages from minimal ingredients under the gun.

The “World’s Greatest Happy Hour” will be a culmination of happy hour offers at Fremont East restaurants and bars, including Commonwealth, Park on Fremont, The Griffin, Beauty Bar, Triple B, Le Thai, Inspire, Wayfarer, The Beat, Insert Coins, El Cortez, Vanguard, La Comida, and Vanguard. Each bar will offer ambitious drink specials and entertainment, including live performances and DJs.

The Painters Lounge, located at Fremont Street and 6th Street, will be a guided painting class for participants of all skill levels. The class will inspire creativity and all aspiring artists will go home with a unique masterpiece. The class, priced at $30 per person, will have two sessions, 7 to 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 to 11 p.m.

Also at the heart of the creative haven will be a large interactive projection screen that will serve as a photo booth for friends to capture the moment together, or, if preferred, solo in a wall-sized selfie.
