Is Wynn West Coming to the New Frontier Hotel Site in 2024?
Per the Las Vegas Review-Journal, story link below, Steve Wynn has plans for a new property, called Wynn West, consisting of more than 2,000 rooms on the property that was the former New Frontier Hotel site.
Wynn Resorts purchased the property on December 13, 2017, for 336 million dollars. Wynn West would be right across from the resort Wynn Las Vegas and Encore on a 38-acre site.

The plan is to have Wynn West connect to Wynn Las Vegas and Encore via Encore Beach Club and an “air-conditioned umbilical hallway”, which will be about 100 feet, going over the Las Vegas Strip. In Steve Wynn fashion, he knew he would eventually buy the former New Frontier Hotel site and has already built the necessary infrastructure outside Encore Beach Club to connect Wynn West.
The hotel rooms in Wynn West will feature his-and-her bathrooms, 24-foot-wide window views, and 80-inch TVs. With Wynn Resorts’ rising room rates, the price of the rooms by the time the hotel opens will likely be $400 a night.
During the fourth-quarter conference call, Steve Wynn informed analysts, “What we are going to do across the street is going to go rather quickly because I have been giving it thought for a long time. I don’t think the design and development period is going to be very long.”
“Hotels are extremely profitable,” Wynn said on the call. “With our room rates, we operate 50-to-60 percent margins in the hotels. So I want to add more rooms.”
“You have to ask yourself, investment community, do you believe that Las Vegas, Nevada, will for the next decade or two continue to be a major destination city in the United States of America and the world?” Wynn asked. “This is a great city to be in. It’s a great city to develop in.”
Wynn expects to show an overall development, covering 280 acres, with renderings this summer. The whole development would include a lake and hotel development named Paradise Park, as well as existing hotels and casinos.
