Hard Hat Lounge’s 4th Anniversary Block Party
Las Vegas dive bar staple Hard Hat Lounge is throwing its annual block party on Friday, October 16, from 8 pm until late, and this year it doubles as a celebration of owner Frank Sidoris’s fourth year running the place. What started as a way to mark new life for one of the city’s oldest bars has turned into a tradition, a night for the downtown community to show up for the spot that’s kept its doors open around the clock since 1962.
The party is free and open to guests 21 and up. Coco Jenkins of Nothing To Do Las Vegas hosts the night, with a full stage lineup, food, raffles, and drinks to match. Headlining the stage are The Escapers and The Soft Echo, with a surprise guest or two rumored. Outside, local vinyl collectives run a 2×4 DJ setup, while a rotating cast of DJs keeps things going inside, so there’s music wherever guests land.
“Feeling the love and support of the downtown Las Vegas community has meant the world to us over these last four years,” Sidoris said. “We are looking forward to many more years of maintaining a safe place for everyone from locals to tourists alike.”
Food From Stay Tuned Burgers
Stay Tuned Burgers is handling the food, and its smash burger is the natural pairing for Hard Hat’s dive bar drink menu. The lineup:
- Classic smash burger, single: $9
- Classic smash burger, double: $11
- Vegan smash burger, single: $11
- Vegan smash burger, double: $14.50
- Grilled cheese: $5
- Tots: $5
Every burger gets the same treatment: seasoned patty, special sauce, house-made pickles, diced onion, soft potato bun. Food service runs late into the night.
What Makes Hard Hat Lounge a Downtown Fixture
Hard Hat Lounge has been serving locals, tourists, and industry workers around the clock since 1962, making it one of the oldest operating dive bars in Las Vegas. Beers (outside specialty pours) come in 22oz mugs, and the bar runs weekly deals that keep regulars coming back:
- Happy Hour daily, 2-5pm and 2-5am
- Industry Nights every Monday: live jazz and 10% off tabs for Vegas industry workers
- Karaoke Wednesdays, 10pm-2am
- $1 off drinks for construction workers, every day
