The Golden Tiki Announces Temporary Closure
Branden Powers, creator/owner of The Golden Tiki, has announced the temporary closure of the Las Vegas tiki bar on Tues. March 17.
The temporary closure is in response to Governor Sisolak’s order for restaurant & bar closures due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In its four year history, the 24-hour bar has never before been closed.
“Obviously this was a hard decision, but it’s for the best,” said Powers. “We will do our best to make sure our great bartenders and servers are supported during this difficult time.”
Powers intends to reopen the acclaimed tiki bar as soon as conditions allow.
About The Golden Tiki
Located in Chinatown, Las Vegas, The Golden Tiki is the vision of Managing Partner Branden Powers–whose experience in the Tiki world dates back 25+ years to the Islands lounge in San Diego’s Hanalei Hotel. The Golden Tiki spared no expense in recreating the classic mid-century tiki bar, reminiscent of the legendary Don the Beachcomber’s and Trader Vic’s. The handcrafted cocktail menu features nostalgic classics and new creations, alongside a massive list of rum selections and craft beer. Featuring the work of renowned artists Tiki Bosko, Billy the Crud, Bill Collins and Oceanic Arts, the one-of-a-kind decor also boasts a unique collection of celebrity ‘shrunken heads,’ an astounding array of artifacts, and Bud ‘n Al’s Oasis, the world’s only adult animatronic bird show.
