Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway—the first major Mickey-themed ride-through attraction—is coming to both Disneyland park in California and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.

At D23 Expo 2019, Disney Parks release some sneak peeks and a few more details about the attraction.

At Disneyland in Anaheim, you can expect the ride to open sometime in 2022, inside Mickey’s Toontown at the El CapiTOON Theater. This is the theater where Mickey and Minnie will be premiering their latest short, “Perfect Picnic.”

Prior to entering the cinema, you’ll have a chance to check out a special exhibit put together by the Toontown Hysterical Society, which will feature props and costumes from around the toon world.

You’ll be able to ride the attraction much sooner at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as the plan is to open next year. The attraction will take place at the Chinese theater, where guests will be transported through a magic portal and go from the human world, into the cartoon world. There’s no doubt you’ll have a Goofy adventure once you hop aboard Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway allows you to take a ride inside the unpredictable and wacky world of Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts. Goofy will be the engineer of the train. Knowing Goofy, you’re about to embark on an out-of-control, magical, zany, adventure, with plenty of turns and twists.

The new attraction uses dazzling visual effects, state-of-the-art technologies, a lovable theme song, and an original story that will transform the cartoon world into an immersive and incredible experience for guests of all ages.
