Las Vegas New Ad Welcomes a New Vegas for the New Reality
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority just dropped a new ad campaign, promising a “new Vegas for the new reality.”

With the world making changes to battle the coronavirus (Covid-19), Las Vegas is doing the same. Guests to the city can prepare for many changes when the Strip fully reopens.
Since Mid-March, any and all gaming establishments in Nevada have been closed to try and mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
In order to reopen, Nevada state officials mandated that casinos must reduce the amount of guests allowed in their buildings at anytime, as well as reduce the number of table games and slot machines.
Many properties, including Wynn Las Vegas, have provided to the public their plans for reopening.
While there isn’t an official reopening date for the casinos, some in the industry have surmised that things may start to open in late May or early June 2020.
In the ad, they say, “We’re working to make it more intimate, with more space and the excitement you’ve come to expect.” That would be a nice change for Las Vegas. More space is a good thing.

As with most major metropolitan areas, the name of the primary city (“Las Vegas” in this case) is often used to describe areas beyond official city limits.
