Haunted Mansion Celebrates its 50th with Ghoulish Gifts
Haunted Mansion, one of Disneyland’s best attractions (in our opinion), is celebrating its 50th anniversary next week.
What better way to do that, then to have some ghoulish gifts and mortal mementos to buy. This will include collectibles, accessories, apparel, and more. You can start picking up the special merchandise on August 9th.
One of the coolest things we’ve seen in a while is the Host a Ghost. Simply tap on the jar and Madame Leota will assist in materializing a spirit for you. You can choose from Professor Phineas Plump, Constance Hatchaway, The Hatbox Ghost, and others. In New Orleans Square, there will be a dedicated cart to pick up your Host a Ghost.
If you’re more into wearing items, there will be tee shirts, an ear hat, and other ghoulish gear for you to add some spirit into your wardrobe.
Maybe you prefer to keep things subtle by accessorizing yourself with Haunted Mansion inspired jewelry. You’ll find 3 new charms from Pandora, as well as a charm from ALEX AND ANI at the La Mascarade d’Orleans. For those pin collectors out there, you’ll find a variety of pins to add to your collection.
As for us, we really enjoy the special after-hours events that Disney puts on. This year, we’re most likely going to attend “The Haunted Mansion: Celebrating 50 Years of Retirement Unliving.” Madame Leota looks to make a special appearance during the 13th hour. Since this is a special ticketed event, your regular ticket or pass won’t allow you to stay for it. But, by purchasing the separate ticket you’ll enjoy entertainment, after-hours access to some attractions in the park, themed beverages and food, and photo ops.
If you’re one that wants to get their merchandise before everyone else and love exclusive pieces, you’ll want to attend the event. You can learn more about the event, like prices here.
