Description: From the wild deserts of Reno, NV., The Sextones are a group of music renegades known for viciously executed soul compositions and white-knuckle-driving funk.

With Mark Sexton on guitar accompanied by the commanding rhythm section of Alexander Korostinsky on bass, Daniel Weiss on drums, and Ryan Taylor on keys, this band is redefining the sound of modern soul. Their musical chemistry began forming in grade school, and as young adults, their chops defy their age.

Eager to hit the road, the band started touring heavily during high school, often lying about their age to play in dingy bars. In 2016, The Sextones are gaining recognition on the major festival circuit and beyond, with appearances at Railroad Earth’s Hangtown Halloween Ball and Wanderlust Festival in Tahoe.

Tipping their hats to the days of Tower of Power and Stevie Wonder, The Sextones are forging the path for a new generation of funk and soul.

After a busy 2015 spent touring the U.S. and Europe, playing alongside veterans Galactic and Fishbone, and racking up critical acclaim on proving grounds like Austin City Limits – they headed home to parlay their momentum, chemistry, and tight live sound into a full-length record, Paradise, released internationally in 2016.

After performing live throughout 2016, the team is thrilled to finally put this record in people’s hands, to spread music that shakes away the daily grind and nurtures listeners’ dreams about what their version of paradise on Earth might look like, even for the duration of a song.
