The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas welcomed Slightly Stoopid, the Ocean Beach-based band known for their versatile music style featuring a fusion of folk, rock reggae and blues with hip-hop, funk, metal and punk to the Boulevard Pool on Saturday, July 13. Joining Slightly Stoopid was alternative hip hop group Atmosphere, known for their signature music style following six studio albums and 24 years of making music together.

Slightly Stoopid’s diligent commitment to live music has been an integral part of the California-based group’s sound since its formation in 1995. Having toured consistently over the past decade, Slightly Stoopid returned to the studio with its first release in three years, Top Of The World, in August of 2012. Originally signed to Bradley Nowell’s (lead singer of Sublime) independent label, Skunk Records, the group formed its own record label, Slightly Stoopid Records, in 2000, allowing the organic and artistic growth the group has become known for.

In 2011, Atmosphere conquered the hip hop world with its long awaited LP, The Family Sign. The tribute to the group’s true extended family: their fans, their loved ones and each other, The Family Sign is Atmosphere’s most personal and intimate album yet. Two years after the group’s last release, lead lyricist Slug continues to drive his hard-hitting rhymes, accompanied by the group’s meticulously crafted beats, into the hearts and minds of listeners.
