The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas welcomed popular reggae rockers Slightly Stoopid to the mophie Stage at Boulevard Pool last night (Wednesday, July 16).

Eight-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, producer Stephen Marley kicked off the evening getting the audience into a mellow groove and spreading positive vibes throughout the venue. The son of reggae icon Bob Marley paid homage to his father with covers of hit songs including “Buffalo Soldier.” Following, Slightly Stoopid took the stage, joined by “unofficial 8th [band] member” Karl Denson of Greyboy Allstars. The genre-bending group kept the crowd dancing with fan-favorite songs such as “Wicked Rebel” and “Somebody.” Spotted backstage was former Los Angeles Laker Rick Fox.

Slightly Stoopid

Slightly Stoopid is an American band based in Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, who describe their music as “a fusion of folk, rock, reggae and blues with hip-hop, funk, metal and punk.” As a band, they have released ten albums (three live), with their seventh studio album entitled Top of the World on August 14, 2012. The band was originally signed by Bradley Nowell from the band Sublime to his label Skunk Records while still in high school.
