Reimagined and Modernized Jubilee to Reopen at Bally’s Las Vegas

Jubilee, the longest-running and most iconic show on the famed Las Vegas Strip, will reopen at Bally’s Las Vegas on Monday, March 17 after undergoing a major transformation. Tickets to the revitalized Jubilee will go on sale Friday, February 28 at 10 a.m. Members of Caesars Entertainment’s Total Rewards program will have access to an exclusive Jubilee pre-sale from Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. through Thursday, Feb. 27 at 10 p.m.

Donn Arden’s Jubilee first opened on July 30, 1981, and quickly became a staple in Las Vegas entertainment. To this day the unparalleled grand spectacle remains to be the last show of its kind. Jubilee features the Strip’s only remaining authentic showgirls. While the best of Jubilee’s main elements will be preserved as a nod to the original production, the choreography, staging, and music will be refreshed for today’s audience.

Leading the charge in the modernization of Jubilee is one of the world’s most celebrated creative directors and choreographers, Frank Gatson Jr. Gatson’s extensive background in the performing arts has led him to an impressive list of accomplishments working with top-notch celebrities and brands. With more than 30 years of experience under his belt, Gatson has provided direction for commercials for brands such as L’Oreal, American Express, Pepsi, and Samsung, and has collaborated in several movies including “Living Out Loud,” the famous “Respect” number with Aretha Franklin in “Blues Brothers 2000” and characters in the Disney movie “Hercules.” Gatson has had the opportunity to choreograph and direct music videos, special appearances, and tours for the world’s most celebrated artists, including Michael Jackson, J. Lo, Rihanna, Diana Ross, Vanessa Williams, En Vogue, Usher, Mariah Carey, and The Band Perry. His dance routines have earned him a record six MTV Video Music Awards for Best Choreography, the most in the awards’ 30-year history.

Gatson’s professionalism, attention to detail, and creative vision have been the keys to his success and are some of the many reasons why he has had a 15-year working relationship with R&B superstar, Beyoncé. Since the days of Destiny’s Child, Gatson has been by Beyoncé’s side, transforming her image and developing iconic moves like the hand gesture from “Single Ladies.” In 2012, Gatson was nominated for a Grammy for co-directing Beyoncé’s “I am… Tour,” which became the best-selling music DVD of 2010.

In anticipation of Jubilee’s reopening, Gatson has assembled some of the industry’s most talented individuals to help him bring his vision into reality:

Lead Choreographer – Anthony Burrell
Anthony Burrell has danced alongside several artists, including Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Destiny’s Child, Mary J. Blige, Ke$ha, Brandy, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams, doing everything from choreographing their live tours to shaping their music videos. His most recent work consists of choreographing two of the videos on Beyoncé’s latest Visual Album, “Mine” and Ghost,” as well as some choreography for Paramount Pictures’ “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa.” Burrell’s television appearances include “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 7, where he was noted by judges as the “Best Dancer in New York,” as well as Lifetime TV’s “Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition” and “Dance Moms,” for which he served as a choreographer. Burrell has also established himself as an actor, having made appearances in Rihanna’s “Unfaithful” video and Fox’s “Glee.” He has toured the world as a principal dancer with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and also starred in the national Broadway tour of “Come Fly Away.”

Co-Choreographer – Chris Grant
Before Chris Grant turned 21, he had achieved goals and dreams that some could not even imagine. Not only was he personally chosen by Beyoncé as assistant choreographer for her riveting “I Am… Sasha Fierce” world tour, but was also handpicked by Michael Jackson for his much anticipated “This Is It” tour. Grant has worked with notable stars including Jennifer Lopez, Alex Gaudino, Keyshia Cole, Brandy, and The Band Perry, and has also worked on high-profile shows such as “Glastonbury,” “Good Morning America” and the “2011 MTV Video Music Awards.” In addition to being an accomplished choreographer, Grant is also a talented singer and songwriter and has captivated millions of viewers with appearances on “America’s Best Dance Crew,” BET’s “106 & Park,” “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and was a finalist on MTV’s “Making the Band 4.”

Co-Choreographer – Danielle Polanco
At the age of 17, Danielle Polanco booked her first professional job with Beyoncé – but that wouldn’t be her last. Polanco is best known for being the leading lady in Omarion’s video “Touch” and for portraying the role of Missy Serrano in the hit movie “Step Up 2: The Streets.” Polanco has also choreographed for Janet Jackson, J. Lo, Usher, Chris Brown, Eve, and Estelle, and has appeared as a dancer in more than 20 music videos with top artists such as Lady Gaga, Ne-Yo, LL Cool J, Nelly, Amerie, and Kat Deluna. She also performed in the smash hit revival of “West Side Story” on Broadway, in which she played the role of Consuela. Aside from her professional career, Polanco is known to be one of the top underground female dancers and voguers of her time, inspiring a whole new generation, especially females, to move with more femininity. She now teaches the true art of vogue and other styles all over the world.

Music Creative Director – Kimberly Burse
With more than 20 years in the entertainment industry, Kimberly Burse knew that she would be involved with music since the early age of seven. Burse has worked for the industry’s most notable record labels including Motown Records, MCA, Sony, and Music World Music, and has helped create, produce and market more than 10 albums throughout her career, generating more than $100 million in revenue. Burse has worked with some of the industry’s leading recording artists including Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé, Jay Z, Mary J. Blige, and Kelly Rowland.

Production and Lighting Designer – Justin Collie
With over 30 years of experience under his belt, Justin Collie is skilled in all aspects of stagecraft, from equipment set-up and design creation to programming and operating lighting control systems. Collie has worked with artists such as Prince, Bon Jovi, Beyoncé, Green Day, Maxwell, and The Beastie Boys.

Jubilee will perform Sunday – Wednesday at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., Thursday at 7 p.m., and Saturday at 10 p.m.
