Las Vegas kids and Families… On Your Mark, Get Set, Gooooo!!!! UnitedHeathCare IRONKIDS gives youth the fun, healthy opportunity to be “IRONMEN”.

Saturday, October 4 event brings together hundreds of youth for one- mile “fun run”. UnitedHealthcare will make a $15 donation for each registered participant, up to the first 200.

UnitedHealthcare and IRONKIDS (www.ironkids.com) are partnering for the third year to raise awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and how it helps diminish childhood obesity.

UnitedHealthcare IRONKIDS Las Vegas Fun Run: kids, ages 3-15, will have the opportunity to race on the same course as IRONMAN 70.3 Silverman that takes place the following day.

The one-mile fun run is for “triathletes to be” and aims to help stem the rising tide of childhood obesity through exercise and healthy lifestyles.

Families and children in Las Vegas and surrounding communities are encouraged to participate and join in the fun. The cost is $15/child, and UnitedHealthcare will match the first 200 registrations with a donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada. Every child will receive a finisher’s medal! IRONKIDS

Previously owned by the Sara Lee Corporation, IRONKIDS was acquired by the World Triathlon Corporation in 2008 and has since grown in size and participation. Past racers include such athletes as Lance Armstrong, and triathlon Olympians Hunter Kemper and Laura Bennett. IRONKIDS is focused on creating positive and encouraging atmospheres for athletes, families, and communities, while also promoting achievement, determination and self-confidence.

All IRONKIDS events are sanctioned by the triathlon national governing body of the country where the event is being held, and will comply with their sanctioning rules.
