The McMenemy family in partnership with Paul Kotler have announced the opening of Square Bar, a unique venue planned for Las Vegas’ New Orleans Square.
About Square Bar
A gaming and entertainment lounge with food and cocktails, Square Bar is planned as the new anchor of what Las Vegas Weekly recently called the city’s “Best New Cultural Hot Spot.”
Remodeling a vintage space, Square Bar will be a relaxing, comfortable, but inspiring escape to another time featuring distinctive bar gaming, lounge, and entertainment areas as well as an outdoor patio, all hearkening back to the swanky early 70s. Arguably the era that defined Las Vegas, the early 1970s were also the last blush of mid-century modern design, in many ways the last bastion of “letting it all hangout.”
Bar food and cocktails will have a ‘70s twist with a few throwback items included for fun, while the sounds of comics, blues/jazz bands, and dueling pianos fill the air.

Update:
The McMenemy family has announced the addition of two key staff members on the opening team of Square Bar, a gaming and entertainment lounge with food and cocktails hearkening back to the swanky early ‘70s. Eric Hendricks has taken the helm as General Manager, with Phil Kotler as Entertainment Director of the venue, opening soon in Las Vegas’ New Orleans Square on the south side of the Historic Commercial Center.Having grown up in the hospitality industry, Hendricks brings decades of hospitality experience to the table. He watched as his dad operated several Andre Rochat restaurants, and at age 16 started as a line cook with Jacques Van Staden at Rochat’s Alize atop the Palms. Hendricks then spent nearly the next decade learning all front-of-house duties while working at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Marche Bacchus. In 2013 he joined the team at Drai’s and where he spent five years growing with the venue, ultimately leaving as VIP Sales/Operations Manager.
Kotler brings with him more than a decade of experience producing shows in Las Vegas. Having formally studied at Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles, The Vegas Theatre Hub, and ComedySportz, Kotler has applied his experiences to book shows at venues all around Vegas. Along the way, he has built an extensive Rolodex of performers and top talent, which he looks forward to bringing to Square Bar.
“As a native Las Vegan, I miss old Vegas where people knew everybody; you could get dinner and a show, and you made some memories,” said Hendricks. “I’m proud to be part of the team showcasing local talents and creating what we hope will be an iconic venue literally in the heart of the city.”
“I’m excited to help make Square Bar the kind of space where people can enjoy watching our incredible local talent let their hair down and express their passions,” said Kotler. “We are planning Square Bar to be a unique entertainment experience.”
