What is Las Vegas' population?

People are always curious about what is Las Vegas’ population exactly. Well, it’s kind of hard to pinpoint, as people tend to see Las Vegas as a general term, like Los Angeles.

What is Las Vegas’ population?

Since Las Vegas is within Clark County, Nevada, we’ll start there.

Clark County’s population as of 2018 is 2,231,647.

Yes, you read that right. That’s over 2 million people and they don’t all live in hotels. 🙂 That number covers several cities, Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas, Mesquite, and North Las Vegas. Clark County is the most populous county in Nevada, accounting for nearly three-quarters (75 percent) of the state’s residents.

Las Vegas’ population as of 2017 is 641,676

The next largest cities in Nevada are Henderson (302,539) and Reno (248,853). Henderson is also in Clark County.

The population of the actual city of Las Vegas appears to be quite small, compared to a number over 2 million. That’s because what a lot of people think of as Las Vegas isn’t Las Vegas at all.

In fact, the Las Vegas Strip isn’t actually in the city of Las Vegas. It’s part of what is known as Unincorporated Clark County. Unincorporated Clark County consists of the following Townships, Enterprise, Lone Mountain, Paradise, Spring Valley, Summerlin South, Sunrise Manor, Whitney, and Winchester.

The Las Vegas that most people are familiar with is actually inside the township limits of Paradise. The city of Las Vegas, in relation to the Strip, doesn’t start until you pass Sahara Ave going North on Las Vegas Blvd.
