The event will help support mentorship, life skills, and culinary training to at-risk and disadvantaged youth in the Las Vegas community and begins with a wine tasting mixer featuring Foley Family Wines, a Plated Gourmet Italian Dinner, Dessert, and wine pairings for each course.

Chef Jeff strives to help teens who have been in prison, foster care or struggle socially to live purposeful lives and teaching them life skills with culinary skills. Chef shares lessons beyond the kitchen walls, and partners with mentors, such as Chef Dan from D’agostinos Trattoria to teach the kids, and introduce them to other restaurants, talents, and diverse menu items.  The students learn life skills that no one can ever take away.  (Many of these kids have never left North Las Vegas, and its Chef’s mission to provide them a safe program and mold them with values and work ethics to become the most hard working employees at any location.)

Chef Jeff did time in federal prison in the 80s, where he learned how to cook and bake. When he got out, he worked at Caesars Palace and then eventually became the head chef of the Cafe at Bellagio. During that time, he has had his own TV show, been on Oprah, and written a few books. He decided to self fund THE CHEF JEFF PROJECT so he could start right away – the need was too great to wait.

Chef Jeff Henderson is an award-winning chef, New York Times Best Selling Author, motivational speaker, and has appeared on numerous television shows including Oprah, Good Morning America, The Food Network, and many more.

Celebrity Chef Jeff Henderson and the students also host weekly  “Beignets and Chicory Coffee Pop Up” (as well as Jambalaya) on Saturdays, 9 – 11am, with the young adults at their test kitchen at 2987 North Las Vegas Blvd, Suite 10, NLV 89030, to help off-set costs.   “The Chef Jeff Project RELAUNCH empowers the second-chance students of tomorrow.  We believe food changes lives and the spirit of hospitality can be used to speak a language of healing and restoration for generations to come,” says Jeff Henderson.”

About The Chef Jeff Project

The Chef Jeff Project is a culinary, hospitality, and life skills training program for disenfranchised youth, formerly incarcerated individuals, and those seeking a fair chance.  We offer masterclasses, life coaching, in-person and virtual culinary and hospitality training, and hands-on food service experience to help our youth learn the necessary skills to find and retain employment. Our program focuses on helping individuals overcome barriers to employment through cognitive thinking transformation, soft-skills development, professional communication, conflict resolution, and time management to not only prepare them for the workforce but to lead a more productive life.
