Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort Reports Seven Inches of Snowfall

Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort (LVSSR) reports it has received seven inches of snow, making it the first significant snowfall of the season. The snow began to fall at approximately 1 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

Current weather reports show a 40-percent chance of snow today. The last time the area experienced a significant early snowfall was in 2009 when LVSSR opened on Oct. 7. LVSSR is scheduled to open for its 2013/14 season on Friday, Nov. 29, but is prepared to open earlier if weather permits.

Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort (LVSSR) is located approximately one hour from downtown Las Vegas in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Established in 1963, LVSSR offers guests access to 30 trails and 250 acres of side-country terrain via three chair lifts and one surface lift. The area features a ski and snowboard school, terrain parks, more than 240 inches of average snowfall per year and off-slope amenities such as dining, snowshoeing and summer activities.
