Jurassic 5 at Boulevard Pool inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
“Set Your Life To Music (SYLTM)” summer concert series continued with a performance by timeless alternative hip-hop group Jurassic 5 at Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Los Angeles-based Dilated Peoples opened the show preparing the crowd for an evening of classic hip hop by sharing its earlier hits, such as “Worst Comes To Worst,” and tracks from their upcoming album Directors of Photography. Following, rappers Jurassic 5, a group that was a pivotal part of the new rap underground of the late ‘90s, took command of the mophie stage filling Boulevard Pool with the trademark old-school beats. The six-piece crew performed classic songs, including “What’s Golden,” “I Am Somebody,” “Long Road to Glory” and “Freedom.”
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas features artists at the forefront of the touring world and emerging artists that will inspire the next musical movements coupled with spectacularly-designed, technology-driven venues. Perched high above the Las Vegas Strip, Boulevard Pool is a multilevel pool experience by day and an intimate outdoor concert venue with unobstructed sightlines of both the stage and The Strip by night.
“Set Your Life To Music” returns to the Boulevard Pool on Thursday nights this summer. The highly-anticipated summer series continues with Mac Miller with special guest Black Boots (July 24); Juicy J (July 31); Rebelution with special guests Iration and DJ Mackle (Aug. 14); Interpol (Aug. 21); Theophilus London (Aug. 28); Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires (Sept. 18); and HAERTS (Oct. 2). Each night doors will open at 8 p.m. and the show will begin at 9 p.m. Additional artists will be announced at a later date.

Jurassic 5 is an American alternative hip hop group formed in 1993 from members of two previous groups, Rebels of Rhythm and Unity Committee by rappers Charles Stewart (Chali 2na), Dante Givens (Akil), Courtenay Henderson (Zaakir), Marc Stuart (Marc 7), and disc jockeys Mark Potsic (DJ Nu-Mark) and Lucas Macfadden (Cut Chemist). The six piece crew that was formed, came out of the Los Angeles venue Good Life. The group broke up in 2007, shortly after releasing their fourth LP Feedback, citing “musical differences”. – Wikipedia
