Since launching with its inaugural roster of artists in June 2019, The Rogers Art Loft at The Lucy, welcomed six artists from a variety of disciplines including printmaking, sculpture, video art, fiber arts, and collage, to share their creative insight and practice with the Las Vegas community.

Hailing from Mexico, Virginia, Louisiana, Nebraska, New York City and Chicago, the artists were in Las Vegas for more than 170 nights as each lived and worked in Las Vegas for a period of approximately four weeks.

“We are so thrilled with the inaugural group of artists and how they immersed themselves with the community in creative collaboration,” said Beverly Rogers, Chairman of the Board, The Rogers Foundation. “We’re proud of the significant investment we’ve made into creating a premier artist-in-residency program with international appeal right here in the heart of Las Vegas. We remain dedicated to inclusivity, originality, and empowerment of artists and are looking forward to 2020 as even more inspirational artists visit.”

While participating in the multi-disciplinary Rogers Art Loft program, each artist prepares and offers an introductory Artist Talk event and a Culmination Exhibition that are free and open to the public.  Curated by Patrick Duffy, President/CEO of the 41-yr, non-profit Nevada School of the Arts who is collaborating in managing this Las Vegas art incubator for The Rogers Foundation, each artist residency opportunity is approximately four-six weeks long, depending on artist’s needs and art practices.  In addition to lodging in the brand-new Rogers Art Loft residence at The Lucy, designed by Cindy Reid, all the visiting artists are provided with access to the new Rogers Art Gallery studio space nearby to work and hold exhibitions.

“The quantity and quality of the creative talent we welcomed in 2019 was impressive and unmatched to say the least,” said Duffy. “We are thrilled about the amazing artists we have secured for 2020 as well. This program certainly uplifts and elevates Las Vegas with the creation of dialogue, community engagement, and new collaborations.”
