The Franciscan Crab Restaurant at Fisherman’s Wharf

During two big events in San Francisco, the Winter Fancy Food Show and the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game, we had a chance to check out one of the best seafood restaurants in The City, the Franciscan Crab Restaurant.

At our table, guests had the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, oysters on the half shell, the iron skillet combo (with shrimp, mussels, and crab), seafood cioppino, and an olive oil oven poached sea bass. Everyone loved their meal.

If you’re planning a trip to the Fisherman’s Wharf while in San Francisco, we highly recommend the Franciscan. Seafood favorites like Seafood Antipasto, Steamed Mussels, Crispy Crabcakes, Fresh Oysters, and Dungeness Crab is what you’ll find on the menu. You will also find freshly made Salumi and Burrata.

The Franciscan, open since 1957, is a unique building that offers incredible views of San Francisco Bay. While dining, you can see the awesome city skyline, Historic Fisherman’s Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz. Recently remodeled, you will find the Franciscan a joy to visit. Visitor, both near and far, continue to make the Franciscan restaurant THE spot to dine while visiting the wharf.
